AllA medium-sized tree Height: Reaching a height of up to 10 to 15 meters. Leaves: Leaves are alternate, leathery, oblong to oval or obovate, about 20 centimeters long. Flowers: The green, finely hairy flowers are about 5-8 millimeters long and held in clusters at the ends of branches. Male and female flowers are borne on the same plant, but male and female parts mature at different times to reduce the chance of self-fertilisation. Fruits: Fruit is large, fleshy, elongated, of various sizes and shapes, often resembling a pear, 8 to 18 centimeters long, some weighing as much as two kilos, soft and edible, with a nutty flavor, color varying from yellow-green to purple.
