Perennial herb Height: 1.25 m Leaves: Leafy shoots close together; leaves are arranged in two ranks on each stem, linear to lanceolate, acuminate apex, parallel veined and with white, scarious, glabrous margins (1) Flowers: Inflorescence arises direct from rhizome. Deans, cone-shaped flower spikes are consist of a series of greenish or yellowish bracts, with cream to yellowish green flowers, each with a mauve or deep purple lip, protude beyond the bracts (2) Fruits: The fruits are red, three-parted capsules
