Dioecious, annual shrub Height: 30-50 cm Leaves: Small, sessile leaves are arranged alternately in 2-files on either side of the branch that resembles pinately compound leaves (1). Leaflets with blunt tips (2). Flowers: Flowers develop at the underside of the "compound leaf, along the "midrib" (2). Star-shaped, white petals male flowers; solitary, larger and erect female flowers (3) Fruits: The single, smooth, dehiscent, round pendulous capsule on almost all nodes near the base of each leaf (1). These capsules can be seen as if hanging at the back of the leaves.
