Tree Height: up to 20- 50 meters Leaves: Spiral, compound, with periole, pinnate, broadest at or near middle or equally broad throughout much of the length, leaftlets opposite, symmetric, venation pinate, leaves lower surface green, upper surface dull dark green. Flowers: Inflorescence terminal and axillary, flowers bisexual, stalked, flowers with one plane of symmetry, with distinct sepal and petals - inner white or at base mauve, stamen 10 -joined at the base, ovary superior, carpels joined, locules 1, style solitary. Fruits: infrutescence arranged as branched axis, fruit brown to black, simple, dehiscent, legume, wwith 1 seed.
