Annual or Perennial Sub shrub Height: up to 1 meters Leaves: Leaves without prickles, very sensitive to touch, with 10-26 pairs of leaflets, leaflets are 6-15 x 1.2-3 mm, linear-oblong Flowers: Flowers lilac or pink, ovoid, stalked heads, 1-1.3 x 0.6-1 cm. A cluster of 1-5 flower heads is protruding in the leaf base Fruits: Fruits are encased, 1.8 cm x 3-5 mm, densely bristly, clustered, and have prickles along the margins

Medicinal Uses & Benefits

UTI, Wound. Preparation: UTI: 1. Boil at least 1 liter of water in a pot. 2. When boiling starts, add the collected roots of fiain-fiain 3. Let it boil for 5 minutes 4. After, transfer the boiled water to a container (pitcher or thermos). Use a strainer to separate the roots from the water. Wound: 1. Crush the leaves 2. wrap the crushed leaves on a piece of clean cloth 3. squeeze the crushed leaves and apply the extracts on the wound (may also be applied without wrapping the crushed leaves in cloth).
