Erect terrestrial fern Height: 0.3-1.3 m high, and 15-45 cm long Leaves: The rhizome produces fronds borne by a thick, sturdy, cylindrical, blackish-brown petiole with a pubescent base. It measures up to 1 m to 1.5 m long. The blade is triangular in shape and up to 45 cm long. It is compound, divided 3 to 4 times, up to the terminal lobes which are triangular and opposite. All the terminal lobes are fertile. Flowers: The sori are linear, located on the margins of the lobes. Fruits: produces small, inconspicuous spore-bearing structures called sori, which are located on the underside of the fronds
